Energetic Solutions

For one week straight I have been experiencing stomach issues; my stomach was hurting and my digestion was irregular.

Having stomach pain is very abnormal for me, however I noticed that my stomach pain was coinciding with a very negative interaction I was having with a former work colleague of my mine who I was quite close with.

Because the negative interaction was connected to work it made sense that my stomach was the affected area as the Solar Plexus Chakra is not only related to work, but also to the stomach and digestive system.

As soon as I made the connection, which was later than I would like to admit, I began to employ some simple energetic solutions that quickly did the trick!

I first meditated, intuitively checking through each of my chakras; working to remove any blockages. I then focused on my solar plexus chakra to kindly remove or ‘cut’ any energetic cords that were in existence between my former colleague and myself. I then completed some positive intention setting with Rose Quartz which I placed in my water bottle to drink. Finally I went outside, took my shoes off, and did some grounding exercises.

I felt instantly better. My stomach ache is gone. My lack-of-work anxiety is gone. And I feel optimistic that the correct opportunities will be placed before me.

Now off to express some gratitude for easy energetic solutions!

Earth Witch Tip #9 – Workout on the Beach

Tonight I conducted a training session on the beach. As the coach, it was the first time I have ever conducted this type of work out (barefoot of course) and I must say, it was fantastic!

My feet and legs are literally still buzzing from sucking up so much of the earth’s energy. I do have a bit of sand up my nose but it is worth all of the positive energy banked.

Here’s what you do:

Get yourself to the beach or the lake – anyplace with sand that is not too hot or full of rocks, take your shoes off and start:

Do lunges, push-ups, squats, planks…

or

Skip, run, jog, sprint…

or

Play badminton, lacrosse, soccer, frisbee, volleyball…

It doesn’t matter what you do, so long as you’re moving around sucking up as much energy as you can through your legs!

Try it. Guaranteed, you will feel great.

Manifest Destiny

Lately I have been learning about the concept of manifestation or the practice of willing things that you desire to into your life. Also known in the mainstream as ‘The Secret’.

Manifestation is not a new-age concept, in fact people have been using manifestation for many years. Every time you write down a list of your goals and post it on the wall you are manifesting. When you write down a list of what your dream-man looks like and then you pray that he waltzes through your door, you are manifesting. Even when you sit at your desk daydreaming about that upcoming trip to Costa Rica, you are indeed manifesting.

Unfortunately every time you imagine something terrible or negative is going to happen to you, you are also manifesting. Many people spend far too much time in this negative thought space and thus they often achieve the opposite of their hearts desires.

Currently I am working on manifesting a move towards my ‘true life’s purpose’ – an idea that has eluded me for far too long! Career-wise that means a career that uses my unique skill set while giving back to the community. Personally that means finding balance in my relationships; with myself and with others.

I am excited to finish my Bio Energy Healing practitioners certification so that I can help others to heal themselves energetically and so I can continue to learn about my body from this new perspective. I am also working on manifesting a healthy and balanced energy system through regular mediation and practicing constant consciousness.

As I have leaped into this new way of thinking, my figurative Earth-Witch pants are beginning to give me a wedgie! I just hope it’s not so noticeable that I am walking around with a camel toe!

Earth Witch Tip #6: RUN BAREFOOT!

This post seems so obvious after my last post about barefoot running, I know…

In any case, when you get the chance, take off your shoes, head to the nearest green space and walk, run, or just stand without your shoes on.

Notice your mood change, notice your energy elevate, notice your hands and feet buzzing!

I suggest that you try to do something that is difficult, something you know will challenge you physically – then notice how much easier it feels.

Grounding: A Great Way To Gain Energy

Today was an odd day… in a great way!

I stepped out of my usual, withdrawn comfort zone (a product of a deficient heart chakra) and contacted a coworker asking her if I could join in on one of her training sessions.

She is a competitive sprinter and I am what I like to call an Aging-Lacrosse-Enthusiast with fast twitch muscle fibers.

I wanted to work with her primarily to learn some new ideas and techniques to bring to my private coaching practice and she sweetly agreed to let me tag along.

We completed a 2-hour, 30 minute long sprint-workout on the University of Toronto Campus completely barefoot! Although this is my coworkers preferred method of training, it was something I had never tried before.

All I can say is I am absolutely addicted. And believe me friends… it’s not because I love running!

“Grounding” is an energetic technique used to draw energy up from the earth through your bare feet. As the energy passes through your Root Chakra it is distributed throughout your body – providing boundless energy, quicker recovery, better sleep, and overall less pain and stress. Grounding happens most powerfully when our human feet touch the bare ground – without the rubber, plastic, and cork that usually separates our feet from the ground.

While I have just recently begun learning about this technique, as well as companies like Earthing Canada – a company that sell kits to help you ‘Ground’ any time any place, I have never quite experienced what it feels like until today.

Through out the entire workout I felt strong, energized, happy, and extremely powerful. Plus I recovered 100% quicker than normal and had energy to keep on going. Normally I feel winded after 2 small laps around the field. Today was different. My level of  exertion did in no way match my level of fatigue; it was very noticeable.

Even now, as I sit on my couch expecting my body to ask for sleep I still feel full of energy! In fact, I plan to ride my bike up the GIANT hill on my street just to buy some gelato for dessert tonight (I deserve that shit!).

In conclusion fellow Energy Enthusiasts, I cannot wait to do it again and I definitely cannot recommend barefoot running enough!

Root Chakra: Mind-Body Connection

The Root Chakra, the first, vertical energy wheel closest to the ground, is responsible for our stability, grounding, health, and our connection to the body.

Perhaps its widespread dysfunction is the reason the world at large seems to be lacking moral boundaries, is in constant disarray, and is seemingly chaotic.

Anodea Judith, in her book Eastern Body Western Mind, says it best when she writes:

“Disconnection from the body is a cultural epidemic. Of all the losses rupturing the human soul today, this alienation may be the most alarming because it separates us from the very roots of existence. With jobs that are degrading, routines that are automatic, and environments that annihilate our senses, we lose the joy that arises from the dynamic connection with the only living presence we are guaranteed to have for the whole of our lives: our body.

Dissociation produces dangerously disconnected actions. Senseless killing and drive-by shootings (where another’s body is seen as lifeless and meaningless, a thing of one’s own) pervade newscasts, met with morbid fascination by anonymous viewers. Women annihilate or silicone their curves to meet the cultural norm of model figures plastered on billboards and magazines. Men pound  their flesh into submission to build a sense of power, often numbing their sensations and feeling. Many people fall into addictions, numbing their aliveness with food, drugs, or compulsive activities. Children are beaten, molested, and marshaled into obedience, driven from their own young bodies before they even learn to understand them, driven by disembodied adults who know not what they annihilate.”

If we were to individually correct and reestablish the connection between our minds and our bodies, would we then also reconnect with the earth, thus beginning on the path to making the world a better, more beautiful, and safer place?

It makes sense to me.
